My highest leadership styles were model the way and challenge the process. This was not surprising because I like to come up with ideas and ensure my team carries out their tasks. I also like to set a clear standard. It is important for me to live up to the standard I set and hopefully, this compels the rest of the team to reach that standard. At that same time, model the way was surprising in that sometimes I fail to set small interim goals for myself and think too big. I have a tendency to procrastinate and lack execution. Tied with model the way was challenging the process; I believe this suits me well because I hate complacency and I am always a proponent of questioning the status quo. Furthermore, ever since I realized I wanted to transfer, I have realized that failure is okay.
My lowest score encourage the heart. Much like model the way, this is surprising and not surprising at the same time. I believe I do a good job in encouraging people to get a job done and praising them when they do a good job. I do, however, have a hard time trying to come up with creative ways to thank those people. In personal situations, I am very good at encouraging the heart, but I feel as if I need improvement in a leadership context. I plan to work on this by thanking those in my team more, and showing them I care about them by praising them when they do good work. It is also important to forge good relationships with your team members in order to encourage the heart.

Buying Someone Lunch
For my random act of kindness, I decided to buy my friend lunch.
One of my friends was about to get lunch in the union. I asked her if she had a meal plan, and she said no, so I offered to let her use dining dollars from my account. The food at the union is pretty expensive, so I felt like it was only right to help her out.
I chose to do this pretty impulsively, I didn't really think much about. I have an excess of dining dollars (hit me up if you need some food), so I always offer to buy my friends lunch.
I felt instant gratification after doing this deed; part of it had to do with the fact that she was so thankful for it. It is a pretty small thing to do, but it feels great to help people out. I think altruism is is one of the best things about humanity. What I learned from this experience is that even a small, random act of kindness can go a long way in someone's day; hopefully, it will compel them to pay it forward as well. I will say, I think getting proof of our act kind of cheapens it and I guess it is not true altruism. That being said, it did not take away from the experience in my case. This experience reinforced my ideas about altruism and committing random acts of kindness.
